On what planet is this sort of hateful response to a very well-intentioned campaign not considered blatantly sexist?  Is being presumed guilty of a rape accusation another “male privilege?”  How about being convicted without any evidence, whatsoever?  Simply because juries are statistically more likely to believe a woman’s testimony over a man’s?  I call bullshit.

Wow.

Feminism: Because lying about rape is a woman’s right!

Jesus fuck you’re a terrible person. If a woman cut your fucking balls off I would personally escort her to the Canadian border.

wow, yeah this is fucking disgusting. this shit needs to get shut the fuck down.

have you even read the statistics? i mean you used the word “statistically” so i would assume you have, but what you just said states otherwise. so just in casehere are some statistics i looked up for you:
-97% of rapists will not spend 1 day in prison.-54% of rapes are not reported to police
these two should be of most interest to you, and i promise, i didn’t make it up…
-99% of people who rape are men.
-1 in 4 women are raped.
http://www.rainn.org/statisticshttp://www.oneinfourusa.org/statistics.php
those are both VERY credible one too. now what statistics were you talking about?
please just stop complaining, what you and i go through on a daily basis as men is nothing compared to what women have to face.
also, what the sticker should read is- “are you a rapist? go die slowly and painfully. there’s a choice for women all”

I think it’s odd that you can’t joke about rape, when people joke about murder all the time. A lot more people are dying than getting raped. I think it’s a comedian’s job to make everything funny. Nothing is off-limits.

Donald Glover (via witch-or-not)

All right, I’m returning to this (with statistics!) because I’m so fucking pissed.

Donald Glover,

One in six American women will experience attempted rape or rape in their lifetime. One in thirty-three American men will. Recently, you did a sold-out show on my campus, in an auditorium that holds about 750 students. I’m not going to do the numbers for you, but you can bet your ass that there was at least one survivor in that venue. Actually, there was definitely more than one. Guess what? You just made a joke out of one of the most terrifying, violating, and heinous experiences of his or her life. Feel like a comedian now?

Did you know that 60% of sexual assaults go unreported, and that only one in sixteen rapists will ever face jail time?

Every time you make a joke about rape, you make a joke of the people who have experienced it. You give them reason not to report their assault, because it’s a fucking joke to you, so it probably is to everyone else too, right? The fact that it’s acceptable to joke about rape is the reason why so many rapists walk free. Because low-lifes like you think it’s okay to trivialize it - oh, hey, it’s no big deal, we can all laugh about it. Even worse, by joking about rape, you make any rapist sitting in the audience think that his actions are okay. That they’re not such a big deal. Most rapists don’t attack strangers. So there could be a guy sitting in your audience who hears your joke and thinks hey, when I gave that girl a few too many drinks last weekend and then had sex with her while she was drunk out of her mind, that was no big deal. Maybe I’ll do it again next weekend. No big! It’s funny! Comedians think it’s funny!

You, Donald Glover, when you make light of rape, both trigger survivors in the audience and legitimize perpetrators who hear your jokes. You also act like a complete fucking douchebag. Be a responsible adult and think before you joke next time, okay? Some things are off-limits. (via yellowcars)

I love Don Glover, but as far as this goes he’s wrong.

And if you put as your Facebook status “I totally raped at Halo today” for your two hundred Facebook friends to see, statistically, you have just reminded thirty-three people of one of the worst experiences of their entire lives.

To describe how well you did at a video game.

Good job!

“Mr. Smith, a large sum of money was taken out of your wallet by a friend while it was in your house on the night of 7th January?”

“Yes.”

“Did you struggle with your friend?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“I was in shock, I never thought he would steal from me. And I thought I might get hurt – if he was willing to steal from me, he might well be willing to hurt me.”

“Then you made a conscious decision to let him take the money rather than to resist?”

“Yes.”

“Did you scream? Cry out?”

“No. I was afraid.”

“I see. Have you ever been robbed before?”

“No.”

“Have you ever given money away?”

“Yes, of course–”

“And did you do so willingly?”

“What are you getting at?”

“Well, let’s put it like this, Mr. Smith. You’ve given away money in the past–in fact, you have quite a reputation for philanthropy. How can we be sure that the money was taken from you against your will?”

“Listen, if I wanted–”

“You’ve given this friend money in the past?”

“Yes, but I don’t see what that’s got to do with anything. I’d told him before I didn’t want to give him any more money-”

“Never mind. What time did this alleged theft take place, Mr. Smith?”

“About 11 p.m.”

“You were alone with your friend in the house at 11pm? Why?”

“Yes. I’d invited him round for dinner. He was a friend.”

“Dinner? And did you have a few drinks with dinner? A bottle of wine, some beers…”

“Yes, we had some wine – why does that matter?”

“So you’d been drinking. Are you sure you didn’t tell him he could take the money? You know, maybe you were feeling sorry for him, feeling bad about telling him you weren’t going to lend him money any more… Are you sure you didn’t give him one last bundle of cash, out of sympathy, but maybe you’re feeling bad about it today?”

“Hey-”

“Maybe you’d had a few too many and it’s all a bit hazy? Are you sure you didn’t tell him he could have the money, but you can’t remember it?”

“No! He stole it from me-”

“What were you wearing at the time, Mr. Smith?”

“Let’s see. A suit. Yes, a suit.”

“An expensive suit?”

“Well–yes.”

“In other words, Mr. Smith, you were alone and drunk late at night with someone you had previously given money to in a suit that practically advertised the fact that you had money, isn’t that so?”

“Look-”

“Where was your wallet at the time of the theft?”

“It was on the table.”

“Right out in the open, huh? Is it really surprising he got the wrong idea? I mean, if we didn’t know better, Mr. Smith, we might even think you were asking for this to happen, mightn’t we?”

“Look, can’t we talk about the past history of the guy who did this to me?”

“I’m afraid not, Mr. Smith. I don’t think you would want to violate his rights, now, would you?”

A Londonderry resident and U.S. Department of Homeland Security employee responsible for conducting passenger screenings at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport has been arrested on four charges of felonious sexual assault and one charge of forcible rape, the Londonderry Police Department and federal officials confirmed this week.

Dwayne Michael Valerio, 44, was arrested at his home at 192 Rockingham Road on Friday. He was subsequently transported to Derry District Court for arraignment, where his original cash bail amount of $100,000 was reduced to $50,000. He was then transported to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood by the county sheriff’s office, according to police records.

Londonderry Police Captain Gerald Dussault said he could not offer much comment on the incident, citing privacy concerns of the juveniles involved with the case.

That’s some really fuckin’ great officer screening you’ve got there, TSA. I feel so fucking safe right now, I could shit.

Seems simple enough, doesn’t it?

Seems simple enough, doesn’t it?

If the fact that there are people who will argue with a straight fucking face that an 11-year-old child “didn’t do enough” to stop eighteen young men from raping her doesn’t convince everyone with a capacity for reason and any trace of decency that we live in a culture that supports and condones rape, I can’t imagine what possibly could.
